If your in the San Francisco Bay Area you can get a jump on Spring by attending the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show.
The show features a number of ornamental garden exhibits that are sure to inspire you (see some photos below) as well as a full program of interesting seminars that cover all aspects of gardening. While at the show you can also do a little shopping -- ornamental and edible plants, garden tools, and a wide range of garden related products and services can be purchased from retailers attending the show.
One more thing.....While at the show today, I interviewed Jessi Bloom, a talented landscape designer and author of a new book on creating gardens that are designed to accommodate free range chickens. She is giving a presentation on that subject tomorrow (Friday) at 1:15 PM. I encourage you to attend if you are thinking about adding chickens to your backyard garden. A transcript of my interview with Jessi will also be posted on the PlanterTomato.com web site next week.
The SF Garden Show began this Wednesday and continues through the week end. I encourage all Bay Area gardeners to visit the show; you'll have a great time, meet some very nice folks and enter the 2012 gardening season with new ideas on how to improve your garden. Check out their web site for program details and times.
